Tucked away between Canton and Johns Hopkins Medical Center, you'll find Baltimore's up-and-coming neighborhood -- Patterson Park. A designated historic district, Patterson Park is within walking distance of a variety of the city's best restaurants, nightlife, and cultural activities. But what it really boasts is a true sense of community. Patterson Park is a small town in the heart of the city--where neighbors greet each other on the streets, socialize and play together, and work together to create Baltimore's next great neighborhood. Patterson Park and its surrounding neighborhoods have been the hub of southeast Baltimore since the mid-nineteenth century. Boasting attractive, solid housing stock and a lush 155-acre city park, the area was for decades home to a mix of working class families, many of Eastern European descent. Many of those families were drawn to the neighborhood due to its proximity to the Baltimore waterfront, with its thousands of well paying blue-collar jobs. Today, Patterson Park is the city's most vibrant, family-friendly park. The surrounding neighborhoods are thriving again. Neighbors know one another and are proud of their community. And with the continuing revitalization of southeast Baltimore and the creation of thousands of new jobs, we expect the quality of life to continue increasing in this up-and-coming neighborhood.
